For the best result
- Face the camera straight on and keep your head level.
- Keep a neutral expression with your lips closed.
- Use even light, and keep hair and glasses off your face.
Your photo stays on your device. It is analyzed in your browser and never uploaded.
How the proportions fit together: facial thirds, midface ratio, eye spacing and symmetry.
How masculine or feminine the structure reads: face width-to-height ratio and jaw-to-cheekbone width.
How defined the jaw and chin are: jaw taper, chin height and lower-third balance.
The eyes, nose and lips: canthal tilt, eye shape, nose width and mouth width.

PSL = 0.8 × (0.35 × Harmony + 0.20 × Dimorphism + 0.20 × Angularity + 0.25 × Features)
The PSL calculator is free, needs no account and sends nothing you type anywhere.

How the PSL calculator works
- Set a score from 0 to 10 for each of the four categories in the PSL calculator above, with its slider or by typing a number.
- The PSL calculator multiplies each score by its weight and adds the results.
- The PSL calculator scales that total to the 0 to 8 scale, rounds it to one decimal place and shows your tier.
The PSL calculator formula and weights
The PSL calculator uses this formula for both versions, with each version's own category names and weights: the weighted mean of the four category scores, multiplied by 0.8 so that a perfect 10 in every category comes out as 8.
Men: PSL = 0.8 × (0.35 × Harmony + 0.20 × Dimorphism + 0.20 × Angularity + 0.25 × Features)
Women: PSL = 0.8 × (0.40 × Harmony + 0.20 × Femininity + 0.10 × Contour + 0.30 × Features)
In the PSL calculator each category has a fixed weight on the version you pick, so one extra point in a category adds its weight times 0.8 to the PSL score. The table lists that weight and that added amount for men and for women.
| Category | Men's weight | Women's weight | One extra point adds, men | One extra point adds, women |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Harmony | 35% | 40% | 0.28 | 0.32 |
| Dimorphism / Femininity | 20% | 20% | 0.16 | 0.16 |
| Angularity / Contour | 20% | 10% | 0.16 | 0.08 |
| Features | 25% | 30% | 0.2 | 0.24 |
The photo tool uses the same formula on the same version, so its four category scores typed into the PSL calculator give the same PSL score, give or take rounding.
A worked PSL calculator example
Follow this PSL calculator example through the table: each row shows how one category contributes to the total in the PSL calculator.
| Category | Score | Weight | Adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Harmony | 5.5 | 0.35 | 1.925 |
| Dimorphism | 5 | 0.2 | 1 |
| Angularity | 4.5 | 0.2 | 0.9 |
| Features | 6 | 0.25 | 1.5 |
| Weighted mean | 5.325 | ||
| Times 0.8 | 4.26 | ||
| PSL score, one decimal | 4.3 | ||
The PSL calculator places a PSL score of 4.3 in the Mid-tier normie tier for men. With the same four scores, the women's version gives 4.4, in the Mid-tier becky tier.
The ratios behind the PSL calculator
When you use the photo tool, the category scores behind the PSL calculator come from 12 measured ratios. The table lists each ratio, what it measures, its ideal range for men and for women, and its category.
| Measurement | What it measures | Men | Women | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Facial symmetry | How closely the left and right halves of the face mirror each other across the midline. | 94–100% | 94–100% | Harmony |
| Facial thirds | The middle third (brows to the base of the nose) divided by the lower third (base of the nose to the chin). | 0.95–1.05 | 0.96–1.08 | Harmony |
| Midface ratio | The distance between the pupils divided by the height from the pupils to the top of the upper lip. | 0.98–1.02 | 0.98–1.06 | Harmony |
| Eye separation ratio | The distance between the pupils divided by cheekbone width. | 0.45–0.47 | 0.455–0.475 | Harmony |
| Face width-to-height ratio (fWHR) | Cheekbone width divided by the height from the brows to the top of the upper lip. | 1.92–2.03 | 1.65–1.8 | Dimorphism |
| Jaw-to-cheekbone ratio | Jaw width at the jaw angles divided by cheekbone width. | 0.86–0.9 | 0.74–0.79 | Dimorphism |
| Chin-to-philtrum ratio | The height from the lower lip to the bottom of the chin divided by the height from the base of the nose to the upper lip. | 2.15–2.35 | 1.8–2.2 | Angularity |
| Jaw frontal angle | The angle at the chin between the lines to the two jaw angles. A wider angle reads squarer, a narrower one more V-shaped. | 115°–119° | 104°–113° | Angularity |
| Canthal tilt | The angle of the line from the inner to the outer eye corner. Positive means the outer corner sits higher. | 4°–8° | 6°–9° | Features |
| Eye shape (height to width) | Open-eye height divided by eye width. Lower values read as narrower, "hunter" eyes. Women: Open-eye height divided by eye width. Higher values mean rounder, more open eyes. | 0.28–0.31 | 0.33–0.4 | Features |
| Nose width to eye gap | Nose width at the nostrils divided by the distance between the inner eye corners. | 1.05–1.25 | 1–1.2 | Features |
| Mouth-to-nose width | Mouth width divided by nose width. | 1.25–1.45 | 1.3–1.5 | Features |
The ranges are the targets this tool scores against: the looksmaxxing community's usual ones, with a few adjusted to what the face model measures. They are not facts about attractiveness. The ranges, category names, weights and tier names differ between the men's and the women's version, while the PSL calculator multiplies a weighted mean by 0.8 for both.
Where to get the four scores for the PSL calculator
The quickest source is the photo tool on this page: its breakdown lists the four category scores that the PSL calculator needs. Type them into the PSL calculator, or score each category from 0 to 10 yourself.
Raise one category by a point and watch the PSL calculator respond: a point in a heavier category moves the PSL score further. To see what a score means, read what your PSL score means.
What the PSL calculator cannot do
The PSL calculator is arithmetic. It cannot judge a face, check that your four scores are fair or tell you what a score means for your life. Avoid these two mistakes:
- Typing a ratio instead of a category score. The PSL calculator expects a score from 0 to 10, not a ratio from the table above.
- Treating the answer as exact. The PSL calculator does exact arithmetic on estimates, so read the answer as a rough guide and not as a ruling on a person.
